Advancement focuses on relationships

University Advancement focuses on building and strengthening the university's relationships with its key internal and external constituents. Strong support for CSU's mission of service from our faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends has enabled CSU to offer our students remarkable learning opportunities. Private giving provides a margin of excellence far beyond that provided through state resources alone.

Led by Kayron Laska , vice president for University Advancement, we strive to tell the story of higher education at Columbus State University and the changes it can bring in individual lives. University Advancement also strives to ensure good stewardship of private gifts. The division's departments include:

• Advancement Services, led by director Mary Ellen Heuton , also the controller for the CSU Foundation and Foundation Properties. Handles all accounting and recordkeeping related to giving, fund management and stewardship.
• Development, led by Meri Robinson , director of annual giving and alumni relations, and Rex Whiddon , director of major gifts and university stewardship. Oversees giving and alumni relations.
• Public Relations, led by director John Lester . Oversees internal and external communication for CSU.
